
Professor Debbie Holley

Professor Debbie Holley is Emerita Professor of Learning Innovation at Bournemouth University, a National Teaching Fellow, and Principal Fellow of Advance HE. Internationally recognised for her thought leadership, she has held influential roles including long-term service on the Jisc Digital Student Experience Panel, and is widely known for shaping national and international policy on digital education, simulation, and educational futures.
Her external profile is reflected in keynote invitations across global conferences in education, technology, and policy, and in her leadership of major research initiatives. These include the State of XR and Immersive Learning Delphi study for the Immersive Learning Research Network and EU-funded work to revise the DigComp framework to better reflect digital health and wellbeing.
In 2025, she was appointed to a national panel on student success (Advance HE/Jisc/Office for Students). A highly experienced doctoral supervisor and examiner, she also contributes extensively to academic development and research training.
